Scope high-performance numerical techniques for linear/nonlinear problems,
numerical simulation of nonlinear problems in science and engineering,
visual analytics of complicated/large-sized data in science and engineering
Objective Both the numerical simulation and the visual analytics have played an important role in the analysis of nonlinear problems arising in a wide variety of fields in science and engineering. For example, in solid-state physics, fusion engineering, and fluid dynamics, a number of high-performance numerical techniques have been proposed for solving nonlinear partial differential equations, and they have contributed to the remarkable development of these fields. Moreover, visual analytics of complicated/large-sized data is indispensable for the analysis of the results obtained in numerical simulations. In this sense, the numerical simulation and the visual analytics should work closely together in the analysis of nonlinear problems. The aim of this organized session is to provide a forum for exchanging ideas and discussing recent developments in the numerical simulation and the visual analytics of nonlinear problems.

[OS2] Multi dimensional communication networks

Scope The scopes include, but are not limited to: ad-hoc networks, congestion control, reliable wireless access, sensor networks, antennas and propagation,network design, intelligent transport systems (ITS)
Objective The demand for the communication system has increased rapidly now, and is expected to increase further more. Moreover, technology development which provides new service and deals with data communication and multimedia communication has been under intense research. The communication network has become gigantic and more complex in order to deal with increasing demand and advanced communication technology application. We will discuss the communication about the infrastructure or the application, the communication methods and the high reliability from diversity of communications.

Objective Numerical computations are widely used in scientific computing. We discuss recent progress of numerical computations for linear algebra, non-linear equation, ordinary differential equation and partial differential equation and so forth in our organized session, but the topics are not limited to them. In addition, topics about verified numerical computations, high accuracy computing and high performance computing are welcome for the presentation.

[OS4] Simulation and Visualization in Immersive Virtual Environment

Scope Simulation and visualization in Immersive Virtual Environment, which is like CAVE. Measurement and analysis of human factor or motion are also included.
Objective 3D environment is being so popular now. Furthermore, immersive virtual environment (IVE) will be popular near future. Actually, IVE has been already used in various research fields and partly applied in practical use. This session aims to discuss how to use IVE for simulation and visualization and as an experimental environment for cognitive science, etc. The session also aims to discuss possibilities of IVE for research or industry application.

Objective Simulations Technology should be used to provide diversified higher education on ICT networks. These learning environments based on Internet technology are needed in practical and massive education field these days. The use of virtual experiment and learning system present advanced educational activities in higher institute and it is widely becoming recognized as an important tool in education. In this domain Robots Technology is also increasing as a real tutor for any practical simulated experiment. Virtual simulation systems are flexible to create any experiment and can be paused and retrial whereas real research equipment cannot be carried out. Simulation technology with robotics takes into account learner’s developmental level. The tutor role used to be model of educational presenter for engineering facts. Most educational managements and researchers will recognize that simulations is a new dimension to technological learning experience and developed for diversified higher education further.
